Project Overview

The Digital SACCOS Project (DSP) is a comprehensive financial management solution designed for Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOS) in Tanzania. This mobile-first platform has transformed how local community groups manage their finances, improving efficiency, transparency, and financial inclusion.

The Challenge

SACCOS in Tanzania were operating with paper-based systems that were inefficient, error-prone, and lacked transparency. Members had limited visibility into their accounts, and administrators spent excessive time on manual record-keeping. They needed a digital solution that would streamline operations while being accessible to users with varying levels of technical literacy.

The Solution

I developed a comprehensive financial management solution with both web and mobile interfaces. The solution included features such as member management, savings tracking, loan processing, automated interest calculations, financial reporting, and mobile money integration. The application was built using React for the web interface, Flutter for the mobile app, and Firebase for the backend services.
